Professional Year Program (PYear) by Australian government gives the provision for practical training to enhance the career prospects of graduates from Australian universities. The program ensures that the graduates are job-ready when they pass out of college

Program Structure
Professional year program spans throughout 44- to 52-weeks. It makes the graduates more aware of the Australian work culture. Participants will be given skills to improve confidence and professional skills which will help them survive and thrive in the Australian workforce.
Enrolment
If you want to enrol in the program, you must meet the following requirements –
1. You must have completed a minimum of two years of tertiary education in a related IT field in Australia.
2. You must be holding an Australian visa which allows you to work full time and grants you the right to study. Priority will be given to people holding a 485 Skilled Graduate Visa or Bridging visa over the graduate visa.
3. You must undertake an application interview with an accredited provider to ascertain the suitability and viability of the course.

Which Supporting Documents Do I Need to Submit?
You are not required to submit any supporting documents with the Expression of Interest for Australian immigration. It means that whatever information you are providing will be taken at face value. This feature makes it all the more necessary to carry out your assessment before submitting EOI.
What is the cost of PYear program?
The accredited providers set the fees. The providers in the area will provide information about the fee, start date, and placements
Is the PYear Program in ICT/Computing only for computer science graduates?
You must be thinking it is but actually no. It is open to all types of students

No, it isn’t. It’s an optional program which is oriented towards increasing points for skilled migration of the graduates. It will equate to one year of relevant work experience by the skill assessment agencies

Is the PY Program in Computer Sciences provided by others?
No, ACS is the only accredited professional body which provides the PY Program. The course is endorsed by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA).
